I sometimes rub my hands together to increase the blood flow.

Hi, Louise.

I'm also a recently diagnosed Type II Diabetic.

I test once a day.

I primarily use my left hand since I'm right handed. The ring and pinky work best for me.

Some suggestions I've gotten from this list that work are

Running my hands under warm water before doing a test.

Shaking my arm so the blood will get flowing to the fingers.

Using the side of my finger rather than the pad.

squeezing my finger immediately after a stick. Some people call this
milking the finger.

It also depends on how often you need to test in order to get enough
blood for the strip. I've also noticed that the lower my sugar, the
faster I get enough blood.

HTH

Lisa

I've discovered that my fingertips are developing small calluses which makes it more difficult to get blood out of my fingers on to the test strip. Any ideas of how to remedy this problem? Thanks in advance.
