We need to be careful about asking for personal information. I'm not always
comfortable sharing my A1C on lists. <grin> 
But if I had your doctor, Lisa, I would say that most people do not eat
fruits and veggies, so does that mean I should not eat them either? Remember
that old parent argument, if all your friends were jumping off a cliffe,
would you? Honestly! Try begging. It often works.

Right now my insurance will only cover a once a day testing, so I get 50 
testing strips and I only get them every five weeks.?? I mentioned this 
to my doctor and she says most of her type II diabetics only test their 
sugar a few times a week.

This worries me, because I know just enough about diabetes to know that 
everyone's body is different and won't react to carb stuffed foods in 
the same way.?? I'd love to be able to test my sugar at least three times 
a day, but getting the strips to do so is an issue.?? I feel like I'm 
being penalized for wanting to stay healthy.?? I don't want to wait until 
I'm insulin dependent to use an automatic monitoring system.?? That logic 
seems totally irrational to me, but then this is the healthcare system 
we're talking about.
