Gary, I wonder if you may need extra calcium. Ask your doctor about resistance bands as they are light enough they may be workable, particularly after shoulder surgery which for everyone is a very slow long recovery process.

And ask to see an occupational therapist who can help with strengthening exercises.

I am recovering from shoulder surgery, so I Listening more than commenting lately! I am just one month out of surgery and I am hoping to get out of this contraption of a sling after my visit on September 3 to the surgeon. I have my doubts, since The repairs to my shoulder were quite extensive. He also told me that my bones are soft due to diabetic changes in it, which I am not sure what to think about that! I have been on calcium for ages, so I am not sure what else I will need to add.To help improve my bones. I exercise all of the time and I am an avid walker, so it was kind of disappointing to hear that about my bones.

I am hoping it is just in this particular shoulder area, and that the poor circulation to it is what is the cause. Anyway, I am recovering well and hope to be back out walking soon. My friend is coming over tomorrow to go on a short walk with me and my dog. Because of this type of sling I am in, my balance is off. I can’t afford to stumble and fall on this shoulder after all that has been done to it!
