[Diabetes-Talk] scar tissue

Dear Angela,

My indo nurse practitioner Told me to inject long and short acting insulin
in the sides of my upper thighs to avoid lowered insulin absorption in my
stomach which isn't having problems yet, but she says using my thighs will
avoid the toughening of my stomach skin. If you're talking about getting
blood from your fingers she suggested the pads of my pinkie and third
fingers as well as the sides since I don't use them as much to feel braille
or for using touch in about all of my activities.

About insulin in my thighs. Sometimes there's a mild or very stinging,
relatively long lasting sting and bite from the needle, and sometimes it
doesn't hurt at all. Still I'm following directions to avoid future
problems.

I hope this helps.

Always with love,

Lissi

Unfortunately, it's permanent.
