[Diabetes-Talk] Talking Glucose Meters?

I was getting my Prodigy test strips supplied through Medicare using A1 Diabetes and Medical Supply out of Memphis. When I requested my last refill thinking I'd receive the same strips prescribed with them for the past two years, I was sent one of those On.Call meters and test strips unilaterally without any warning. I had no success when I attempted to call them to get a return merchandise authorization number to send them back since I can't use them. I did talk to someone who said they no longer carried the Prodigy test strips and that they would be getting the On.Call talking meter soon. I found out that my local WalMart can special order the Prodigy test strips so I'm having my endocrinologist prescribe a new order for Prodigy test strips with them. I won't be dealing with A1 Diabetes any longer.

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Talking Glucose Meters?

Hi All,

A friend of mine who is a type2 and has been using the Prodigy was just sent a meter she cant use because it does not talk. When she called her supply company she was told they would not be carrying the prodigy any more. When she complained about being sent an arbitrary non-talking meter, They said they would have another meter in about a week called On Call Voice.

So my question is, have any of you heard anything about a meter called the On Call Voice and if so is anyone else using it? I did an internet search, but nothing came up for it.

Thanks for any information.

Eileen
