[Diabetes-Talk] Inpen

Hi,
Sounds like an interesting system. Is this for the fast acting type of insulin, or will it work with the long lasting stuff too. Knowing how much is left in a pen would definitely be helpful, and having it sync with the Dexcom sounds like it would be helpful too. Thanks.

Hello All,

I have been using the InPen and it’s app with my Dexcom G6 for the last 3 months or so.

My first impressions are good. The app is very easy to use and get set up. The pairing of the pen is interesting at first. Make sure you do the exact steps lined out for you in the pairing dialog or it will not work.

The biggest thing to remember about the system is that it is a insulin pen and not a insulin pump replacement.

The second thing to remember is that you can dose insulin in half units. This took a bit of time to get use to for me personally.

Thirdly. There are some minor accessibility issues in the app such as unlabeled buttons. There are not many of these so it is safe to use and they have already said they are working on adding more accessibility to the app and fixing the unlabeled buttons throughout the app. I believe there is only about 5 unlabeled buttons.

I hope this helps,

Ed Worrell
