Hello Terri,

Glad to hear that you are on the right track. Hope to hear more from you on
this list on your progress. We are here to encourage you and help with
suggestions so don't hesitate to ask questions.

I have been a diabetic since 1987 and started only seeing a doctor who was
an internal medicine specialist. After I got married in 1999 my wife
encouraged me to get the internal medicine doctor to refer me to an Endo and
they helped me a great deal in getting my blood sugars more under control.

When I moved to North Dakota I was referred to a group of endo doctors who
have helped me even more and they changed the type of insulin I was taking
and got things more under control. In November I received a CGM Continuous
Glucose Monitor, DexCom as Medicare finally approved the use of the DexCom
G6. Using the DexCom has helped me even more get my blood sugar levels under
control and run a 7.1 to 7.3 HA1C every 6-months.

So, take care of your health so that you can live longer and I wish you the
best.

Milton

Hello Milton and list,

Thank you Milton for your suggestions. I really appreciate them.

I am seeing a nutritionist. Well, I am talking to her on the phone. I have
talked with her 3 times now. I have another appointment with her later in
August. She does seem helpful. I look forward to talking to her, and
learning what I can from her. I find her easy to communicate with. which is
good.

As for my blood sugars. I check them throughout the day. I check first thing
in the morning. Before lunch, and dinner. About 2 hours or so after dinner,
and before I go to bed. I also check other times during the day, if I feel I
need to do so. I am using the Libra system. Not sure I spelled that
correctly. I can't ever seem to remember how to spell it. I love having this
system though. It's been a game changer for me. I think I have had it for
close to a year now.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you again for your thoughts.

Terri
