I change meters once a year and am now using Walmart's ReliOn Pro Voice. You
can pick one up if Walmart is still open or have it sent. 
The setting menu is a bit tricky without sight but I managed to do it. 
The testing routine speaks well but the memory does not. The ReliOn meters
have a high rating, so this might be a good way to hold your friend over
until she can decide what she needs.
