Try the medication, Gabapentin. I use and this does stop the nerve pain, for myself that is. My Neurologist has told me that this puts the nerves to sleep, stopping the obvious pain. I find this to allow me to sleep very well so I take this medication before bed-time.
If you are not already seeing a Neurologist, I advise you make your appointment...
Good luck,
Rick

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Severe Neuropathy pain in feet and ankles
Just throwing this out for discussion becaussion because I don’t know what else to do right now.
I have had the most severe neuropathy pain in my legs and feet for quite sometime. Whenever I go to the ER and they tell me to rate my pain, I always tell them it’s at least an 11 or more and they scold me because they want just between 1 and 10. I tell them that I’m trying to let them know it’s worse than that.
I have taken Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone and Tramadol., all . I have considered having the nerves burned off on my feet or
My question is, what would anyone do? Has anyone done the nerve burn thing? How did that work? What were the pros and cons? I’m desperate here. It’s changing my personality and I’m not liking that at all.
Thanks for any help.
Cordially,
Michael D. Barber
