Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] An update on me.

Hi everyone,

Well, after visiting the diabetes clinic, I am back on glipocide (sp?) which
I used to take. I stopped it when they put me on the doxycycline for the
infection in my left arm.
I had to do some trouble shooting on my glucometer after comparing a blood
sugar reading from it to one from the meter at the clinic. My meters reading
was much lower, but after calling Prodigy and troubleshooting, we found my
meter is accurate. I also learned it is best to compare the reading to my
A1C instead of a different glucometer. My a1C is 7, as I stated before, and
I got a 154 reading from my meter, and a 308 from their meter. Needless to
say that would indicate an 11 A1C, and I don't think I've shot that high
since October 28th.

So, we'll see what happens when I am back on the second diabetes drug.
That's where things stand for now. One more thing, the doctor I met with at
the clinic is taking a long shot and trying to acquire a Freestyle Libre for
me. We both know it probably won't happen. Unlike certain presidents,
however, I can accept the outcome. Har har.
Alan

P.s: to remind folks I am type 2, that why I am not saying anything about
insulin.
