Right now the freestyle libre 2 is schedule to be at pharmacy any day.what i was told is that there will be a new app to support the freestyle libre 2. But for now the libre you have to scan but going forward with libre 3 that will go away.libre 3 is in clinical trials as we sspeak since abbot has an advantage over dexcom in clinical trials as they already have the FDA ear on cobat testing and so that is why they can get an advantage on cgm clinical trials with libre 3 as well.

My husband is considering using the freestyle libre. He has early onset type two diabetes and takes no medication but would find the sugar information valuable to motivate lifestyle changes. My question is is there more than one model of the freestyle that people are currently using? Does the app work just with the newest Version and do you have to scan the sensor with the phone or does it continuously read out? Costco was telling us about the one they call the freestyle 14 day that they sell at a tremendous discount making it not too unreasonable for people whose insurance will not cover.
