[Diabetes-Talk] Question Re Dexcom G6 & Scans??

I believe it will be both sides. I do still have another sensor in the house, but I’m also worried about the transmitter. Do you think that will get messed up by the scan? Thanks.
Eileen.

Eileen, it depends. If your sensor is say, in the right side of your belly
and they only need to ultrasound the left side, you should be okay. But in
order to do an ultrasound, don't forget about spreading that gell on you.
That will not go well on top of a sensor. So from that stand point, I might
take it off. And don't let a new employee tell you they won't replace the
sensor because they will. So unless it's your last sensor, I'd play it safe
here.
Good luck.

Hi Eileen! I think it will be safe for the sensor, since it is just
ultrasound waves and not radiation or an MRI. I had to remove mine for a CT
scan and MRI. The ultrasound tech will let you know if it will be in the
way of the scan though. If you have to remove it, just call Dexcom's tech
support and get a replacement sent to you. Hopefully, you have a spare,
since it seems to take Dexcom a good week to ten days to get anything to you
these days.

Hi All,
I need a memory refresh. Tomorrow I will have a Sonogram of my lower
abdomen. I wear my Dexcom sensor transmitter pair on my lower tummy.
So, do I need to remove them so the scan does not ruin them? I only just
started the sensor last night and hope I can keep it on. Thanks for
refreshing my memory.
Eileen
