This workshop will focus on broad questions of communication & access in health care.

Ohio State's <https://u.osu.edu/transformativeaccess/> Transformative Access Project (TAP) is pleased to announce our upcoming fall workshop! (Free and Open to the Public)

#DisabledNOTdisposable- Access, Inclusion, and Disability in Medicine and Health Care

When: Saturday, September 19th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Eastern)

Where: https://go.osu.edu/tapworkshopfall2020

Join us for an open educational discussion with a panel of people with various disabilities talking about their needs and experiences when accessing health care and health care-related services. This event will be helpful to both students and professionals in better understanding:

*	Barriers experienced by disabled people when accessing health care
*	How to create more accessible environments on an individual and systemic basis

In this period of pandemic and health care crisis, the needs of disabled clients and patients are often overlooked, making this conversation even more important today. We warmly invite you to join us for this opportunity to engage in dialog with our knowledgeable disabled panelists, learn directly from their experiences, and develop a more holistic view of future patients/clients.

Registration for the workshop is free and open to the public.

Captioning services will be provided at the event.

For more information about the event or to request accommodations, please contact Evelyn Hoglund (hoglund.1 at osu.edu <mailto:hoglund.1 at osu.edu> ).

This event is hosted by the Transformative Access Project, a grant under the Global Arts and Humanities Discoveries Theme <https://discovery.osu.edu/global-arts-humanities> .

*Please share this event announcement with your communities and lists!
