I belong to a group that meets once a month with a former Apple employee who is now an accessibility trainer who keeps us up-to-date with everything iOS. He said that Apple actually sells refurbished phones for a fraction of the cost of new phones and these are extremely reliable. What they do is take the trade in phones that they get and phones that may have been returned due to some problem and completely dismantle them. Then they Test every single component and discard any non-functioning parts. They then build a brand new phone from all of the working components and sell them. This would be a more reliable source than just buying a used phone. We were told that brand new phones are not individually tested when they come off the production line but that they only pull one out of every so many off the line to test. Every single refurbished phone however gets tested.
I may go this route next time I need a new phone. My current one is an 8 and seems to be functioning pretty well but is now considered an older model.  it doesn’t have some of the new accessibility features such as text recognition, screen recognition, and image recognition that could be very valuable.

Hello All,

To me it sounds like the image description function of Voiceover is on and is trying to describe the graphic that resides near the blood glucose reading in the center of the screen. In reality this is just the visual aspect of the trend arrow.

How to stop the weird readouts…

1. Open settings

2. Navigate down to accessibility and then to Voiceover.

3. Scroll down to rotor and open this option.

4. Find the Image description option and double tap to add it to the rotor.

5. Exit out of settings and finally navigate to the Dexcom G6 app and open it.

6. Once the app has loaded place your thumbs and pointer finger on the screen and twist them. This action is much like turning a volume knob on a stereo. Do this until you hear the Image description option.

7. Once you have heard the Image Description read out loud, now flick down with one finger and Voiceover should now announce that Image Description has been turned off.

of I OS they have introduced all these image sort of accessibility 

hooks which in a way can be annoying at times and helpful at other 

times  with third party apps.  Depending on which apps have taken

I have the same problem with an iPhone 11 running the latest iOS and 

the latest version of the Dexcom G6 app. I have never been able to 

find an answer on how to get rid of that pop up picture on some of my apps.

Hello group, I mentioned about my Dexcom cgm giving me a strange 

message. It says after the reading, pea pea on the law, and it still 

saying that occasionally. Does anyone have any ideas or had anyone 

heard this before or am I the only one that get this message? By the
