That’s   what I have done as well.get the overlay patchs and the libre 1 and probably even the libre 2 senssor will hold on for dear life ttill its  time to remove them.

I have only had two sensors fail on me early on and they immediately sent replacements along with return postage so they could examine the failed sensors.  I haven't had a problem with any other sensors since then aside from the glue not always holding well but I buy the Fixic adhesive patches now that hold on for dear life until you're ready to remove the sensor.  I'm currently on an iPhone XS Max running iOS 14.7.1 and have the new app ready to go when the sensors arrive.
