Hi Terri,

I like green tea, but I'm very picky about tea. I usually don't like
any of the bottled stuff so stick to teabags. You can go either with hot
tea or make iced tea with teabags. One thing you might want to be aware of
is green tea is usually higher in caffeine. They also make green tea with
flavors, and it might take some trying to find out what you do or don't
like. Also, when talking about meats, bison is leaner than hamburger. It
tends to be a little more expensive, seems like most things that are
healthier cost a little more. I also just found a recipe for making a
substitute for buying cream of chicken soup. Canned soups wind up in
recipes, but are usually more sodium than is necessary. I'm interested in
trying it out and seeing how it works. Hope this all helps. Great job on
your progress, and keep asking questions. It's how we all learn.
Warmly,
Doula

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Green tea

Hello once more everyone,

I was wondering, what can you all tell me about green tea?

I hear that it can have wonderful health benefits?

Is this true?

If so, is this a type of tea that is usually enjoyed as a hot beverage?

If so, how do you make it?

And are there certain brands better than others?

I was thinking of buying some green tea, tea bags. I was looking on the
Walmart App, and I can see a few different types. Some are bags. While
others are bottles of green tea. Such as, Arizona, and Lipton. But I was
thinking I might want to avoid those two. I wasn't too sure though. So I
thought I would ask here.

Oh yes, on a whole other note, my Treciba has been reduced. I have gone down
from 70 units, to 66 units. Not much. But it's less. So this makes me very
happy. In another week we will re-evaluate the situation, and go from there.
If it needs to be lowered again, then we will lower it by 4 more units. This
is just wonderful!

I will keep you all posted.

Terri
