Milton, I am in agreement with you.also when you get glucose levels in
control, then the insurance company will not want to cover as that is
what happened to me with dexcom g5. That is why I was forced into the libre
system by insurance after switching from one insurance provider to the next.
Finding out that the insurance would not cover dexcom over libre because
of the costs involved. That may alos be the fact of life with government
insurance like medicare and Medicaid. So be aware of that fight that you
will have on your hands to get either one of these CGM systems dexcom or
libre. As libre improves its going to be even tougher of a fight for dexcom
to lower costs. AS the libre 3 has already been approved in Europe and in
a matter of time, it will be here in the USA as well. So be aware in
future we will have more chocies over what CGm to have and if its not
covered by iinsurance tiwill be easier ot get htem out of pocket.as libre
has been doigna good job keeping hteir cost the same from one version the
nextthe price has not increased from ibre 1 to libre 2 and it will be the
same when libre 3 shps in the USa. The cost wilbe the same no matter the
improvements with ABbbot product which is not thee same with dexcom. What I
feel is tha dexcom keep on increasing heir cost for hteir CGm and most
insurance decide if its worth it to cover dexcom compared to abbot libre
products.
