[Diabetes-Talk] Dexcom or Libra

Dear Alan and Everyone,

I'm not very conversant with computer associated matters other than what I
need to manage email and volunteer for Bookshare. How does the information
get from my Prodigy Voice meter to The diasendR solution and how much does
it cost? I went to the website and after JAWS read a brief intro I thought I
was pressing a link to learn more. I must have gotten the wrong thing
because the next page was about covid so I alt foured.

Also though a company contacted me about receiving the Libra for a $179
start up fee covering the reader and supplies for 3 months with a $29.95
charge every three months after that. All supplies would be delivered. my
Diabetic RN/educator told me when I checked with her that the endo thought I
should get the Dexcom because it can be read by my echo dot. She thought
that company was going to contact me about the Dexcom. It is a company our
hospitals work with. I'm prepared to use either Dexcom or Libre depending on
what my insurance will cover for the Dexcom. She's planning to contact me
tomorrow with some answers.

Have any of you heard about using the echo to get a voice reading from your
CGM, or CGD or whatever?

Evan gave me a link to a you tube video about how to connect with the echo
which made no sense to me. As many hours a day as I spend proofreading on my
computer the actual nuts and bolts are as mystifying to me as they were in
the eighties.

Here is that link. It mentions something about using another ap and I don't
know how much that costs either.

I look forward to hearing from any of you who have ideas about these issues.

Always with love,

Lissi

Hi Sheila ,

The diasendR solution provides easy uploading of information from most
glucose meters, insulin pumps, CGMs (continuous glucose monitoring) and
mobile apps. The diasendR solution consolidates and presents your
information in clear and structured reports. The above statement came from
this website:

https://support.diasend.com/hc/en-us/articles/211990605-What-is-diasend-

I refuse to manually keep records of glucose meter scores, etc. when that
information is already housed in an electronic device that can be uploaded
somewhere that allows me to produce the reports I need for my doctor. I set
up an account with Diasend and upload my Tandem T:Slim X2 insulin pump
readings as well as my Prodigy Autocode glucose meter readings using the
Diasend Uploader software and can produce the needed reports. I usually just
print a report containing readings from the prior two weeks and hand it to
my doctor when I visit every three months.
