Apple did put the ECG feature on their Apple Watch through the FDA and got it. Now, having said that, it is not invasive in that it puts something under the skin. I know Apple had talked of the day when people could test blood sugar without poking fingers, etc. But it's always hard to know if this is something that will happen in a year, or will still be on the horizon in ten years. I believe, though, that if Apple and/or Samsung are interested in this, they can afford to put it through the FDA process. I did hear about a year ago that Apple had, for several years, focused a lot on health and fitness, and there was a health council to help decide what features would be best. The report I read said that there was some rancor in the membership, and their future direction was not certain. So there's always that aspect of things, too.

Wouldn't that require a bunch of testing and approval by the FDA? I sure don't want a toy. If it doesn't insert something under our skin, I would think every company in the world would be going for this. We'll see.

I don't have any brand of smart watch so maybe I'm missing something obvious here. But how in the world can it measure your glucose level? Anybody remember the Glucowatch? The notion of measuring it through the skin has fallen through many times over the past three decades. So what would it do? Call me puzzled.

Guess, we will se how accurate they are.will these also have cgm capabilities, I don’t know but that  would be very interesting way and break through for  diabetics.
