[Diabetes-Talk] clever choice meter

hello, I have a prodegy meter but I also bought a clever choice meter. 
apparently you do not hhave to use solution with it. if it says meter 
malfunctioned does it usually straighten itself out? if it does how long 
does it take? and how long will the meter run before shutting itself 
off? my readings seem more consistent thanks much for your help.
