Hello and welcome to the list.

To answer your question, YES, the Dexcom G6 app works on most of the current
models of iPhones running the latest installation of iOS 14.6 along with
using voiceover.

You will need to set up an account on the Dexcom app which will give you the
same login on the website.

I would strongly advise that you make arrangements to see a diabetes
educator for assistance and once you get the hang of it it is very easy to
change out the sensor every 10-days and replace the transmitter every
90-days. The diabetes educator can also help you understand some of the
setting on the app and putting the code for the sensor and transmitter which
is required for activation of both items.

The transmitter code can be found on the box that the transmitter comes in
and you can use the phones camera to get the code to be entered directly
into the app. I have not found this very useful.

You will also or could use the camera to get a 4-digit code for the sensor.
I also found this difficult for a totally blind person.

Entering the codes for me I have found that for the sensor I'm able to use
Seeing AI from Microsoft on my iPhone but getting the code for the
transmitter you will need to get some assistance from either a reading app
or someone sighted like using Be My Eyes or Aira.

If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me.

By the way the Diabetes Action Network will have a program during the
convention of the National Federation of the Blind. When the program comes
out on the national website you should grab a copy to find the Zoom login
for the Diabetes Action Network. It will be a program that will have
speakers and a business meeting.

Again, if you have further questions just reply to this message.

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] New To List

Dear Members,

My name is anita. I joined this group this weekend because I need a support
group to help manage and monitor my blood sugar levels.

My doctor prescribed the Dexcom G 6 and I received the supplies this past
Saturday. I would like to know if this system is accessible for blind users
and is there a website or app that I can go to with instructions.

Any information provided will be great.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Anita
