Hi Dave,
The Prodigy Voice is the only fully talking Blood Glucose meter that a blind
person with Diabetes can set up and use independently. The strips that it
uses are the Prodigy Autocode strips made for all of the Prodigy meters.
It does not use an Ap.

There are two Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM) available in the United
States. They both have an accessible Ap. Since, you are not taking
Insulin, it is best to start with a glucose meter. If after you meet with a
Diabetes Educator and after several months of trying or if your A1C test
goes up, your Endocrinologist can prescribe the Free Style Libra 14 Day
Patch for you. Your doctor will need to write a "letter of necessity" to
your insurance provider so that they will cover a share of the cost. .

All people with Diabetes cannot tolerate carbohydrates, it is just the
amount of each that effects our blood sugar levels to go too high.
