[Diabetes-Talk] Which Meter??

I am type 2 and I was using a OneTouch Verio Flex for a while which sync'd with my iPhone making all the readings accessible via VoiceOver. However, I ended up moving to a FreeStyle Libre because I was only able to get about 1 test strip out of every dozen to give me a successful reading. It's not the easiest thing to get a big enough droplet of blood for the test strip when you can't see a thing.

There are two versions of the Libre. The older version, which I have, gives you readings every time I manually scan with my iPhone; their reader is not accessible. The newer version pushes readings to their reader which is not accessible but they are still working on an iPhone version of their app.

I'm not on insulin but I wonder how sticky Medicare will be about forcing me to go back to manual finger sticks being blind and deaf a good portion of the time due to tinnitus.

The other problem I had with finger sticks was each site took several weeks to heal.

Guess I'll find out later this year when my Cobra plan runs out.

Take care,
Tony
