[Diabetes-Talk] Which Meter??

Hello, David,
I would like to return to the issue of the meter. The Prodigy Voice was
a revolutionary product, indeed. However, though the NFB continues to
get some royalties from it, I believe that it and other stand-alone
talking meters have had their day. It looks like we have to make a
choice between convenience and accessibility on one hand and accuracy
on the other. Newer meters, which don't talk, put all their brain power
into accuracy. I understand that the our colleagues over at the ACB
have a resolution going authorizing a CGM for all blind diabetics. We
should partner with them in this effort. But until that wish is
realized, some of us might have to go to a meter that would require us
to use a phone or tablet in tandem with it for accessibility. I have
just ordered a Contour Next One for this reason. Well, David, consider
all these comments, then you will pay your money and take your choice,
as Aldous Huxley said.
