[Diabetes-Talk] accessibility is on the way

The problem here is that you are not clear about what the company has
actually done and it is difficult to know how we can find out. You don't
seem interested in having us learn or having your company speak to us or
anything along those lines. It would be wonderful if you could work with ACB
and NFB and help promote the good stuff you think your company is doing.

Thank you Paul,
It must simply be understood that no Company regarding accessible medical
devices does now or has ever made news to what is being done within their
works made available to any group as this where they do not control all
regarding. Some believe this is not how Corporations are run but I simply
ask to show me otherwise. Not one as Tandem, Medtronic, Insulet or others
outside the US have ever done what we are doing and offering a list that
some do not want to be part of for their own personal preferences or reasons
we do respect completely. However, as I am on this list and review to the
comments about this issue, inaccessibility, we simply wanted to let those
know what we were doing. Some that have gone off on me through this list
confuse me for when I first began this trek, I contacted them and I'm sure
they may have thought this crazy for an individual to believe they could do
something as this. Well I/we have and we are moving forward day by day and
week by week. However, the problem seems to be the release of information
and as with any and all companies, such is released at the Company's
discretion and as the Company and it's Directors see best for the Company,
not any group or select individual. I am just not understanding what is
believed to being so odd with this. I again ask all to have me see this from
your side and show me where other Companies come to this group and have a
tell all as I am being looked down upon for how our Board Directors choose
to have such information released and what information can and will be
released. How is this odd? If you believe a Founding CEO of a Corporation
makes the decisions himself or herself, this is so incorrect. The Board
Governs, The Chairman of the Board then takes such rulings/decisions and is
to be sures the Executives follow as the Board, the ruling/governing body,
decides. I'm just lost at how this is such a problem here. Should this
information have been kept in the so-called bag from those intended to
support?
I continue to offer to be contacted. I often do not have the time during the
day to do so since you must understand that if I receive a voice message, it
often may be the day after that I receive the message and as it may then be
decided on the day's list of to do's. Again, if you have a problem with such
or want to talk, understand that not all questions will be answered, not all
information regarding what we are doing will be discussed and depending on
the person, their attitude and the reason for the call, as I said prior, it
may not be returned if left as a voice message. We offered a group list to
have information and questions received and not through any other venue.
Nothing against any list or other such type information sharing but it is
what it is. We spent most of this past week working on links on our site so
that those needing a more simple way to access the information was designed
in some cases and changed. There should hopefully be no further problems
with links on our site.

Hi all,
I have been following this thread with some puzzlement...
The below is only a guess, but may explain some of the misunderstandings in
both directions.
Perhaps Rick and the company he represents are from a quite different
culture, leading to a very different business methodology, where the views
and procedures he has outlined, that seem so weird to us, are just the way
it is done there.
If my guess is somewhere near the mark, then we might cut him some slack
until he presents something tangible.
After all, if their product is effective, accessible, and approved by the
FDA, I don't care where it comes from, or how weird the path to get it on
the market has been, I'll be eager to try it.
Regards,
Paul from Australia.

Bern,
I reread your note. Please tell me, what information did Insulet or Tandem
share with you before they made anything public? Furthermore, I know I
called you when this first began and simply, when there is no interest, who
is to continue knocking?
When a Company says not to divulge information, if you understand when you
are not the one making the decisions, you follow what is ruled and that is
that. I just do not understand your message. I understand we may not please
all with all we are doing but I'll simply ask, who else is going to such
expense and extremes to fulfill this need going unmet? Again, if you feel up
to it, call and hash this out.
Rick

Rick,
I am extremely disappointed... In fact, nearly to the point of being
downright disgusted with this behavior. Had you not been willing to divulge
information whether or not you are using whatever this "company" is, (using
this "company" as a scapegoat), or, if, in fact, they are the real reason
for not being able to divulge such information, Had I been in this position,
I would have kept my proverbial mouth shut until such time as this
information actually could have been divulged. Most of us here have long,
long graduated from such elementary school antics.
