The other thing that he should do is refer the developers of this insulin pump to the Jernigan Institute and Aneil Lewis.

Hello Rick,

I went to the site you posted and listened to the video. I have a few questions about the pump that I believe are perfectly fine to ask on this list as many here are interested in accessible pumps. For myself I’m not subscribing to yet another listserve.

Has the design of this pump been finalized and is what was used in that demo a working prototype?

Have to say the voice quality wasn’t all that great and if those are the sounds for the alarms for alerts it would turn me off if they are a said and done deal. Are they finalized or will they be changed and improved?

The menu options he went through seemed a little strange to me. For instance the carb-counting one where you enter a type of or brand of food rather than a number for the amount of grams of carbs someone might be eating. As a type 1 diabetic, have to say entering a category of food rather than an estimated value on my own leaves me feeling uncomfortable.

You should not take this as a critisism, but valid input from a potential customer. I will be very happy when an accessible good quality pump comes on the market. If you have direct contact with the developers you should give feed back from people on this list because if it works well we will all benefit from it.

Hope to hear back from you about this pump.

Eileen

Hello All,

I have been vague with comments that I have made over the past year and I hope you will understand that when the time is not right, it is better to not say anything. However, I am now only attempting to make a simple introduction on what many of you all are fighting for and it is on the way.

Go to the website to learn of an accessible insulin pump system that will be indicated for those blind, deaf, dyslexic and/or having motor issues with their hands.

I'll not go into this further on this site and their is a group that all can be discussed to not take up this group's time or to fill mailboxes of those who may not be interested.

Thanks,
