Hi Jamie and everyone.
I am hanging on for dear life to my back door contacts and have also signed up to receive further information on the Omnipod 5. It will come out first as an android app and then as an Ios app. This is definitely a company that gets it, as far as we are concerned 
As soon as I know more, I'll speak up here. 
In the meantime, my trusty Omnipod classic and the Seeing AI app are getting it done for me. Now if I can just find insulin! Man I hate Medicare! Really? A two-hour trip on public transit each way to buy insulin? There's a pharmacy 3 blocks from my house that's full of vials of insulin. Gee, guess what I'm doing this week!
Anyway, let's just keep working towards progress.

Hi Eileen!  I did meet with the lead researchers for a brainstorming session about what they need to do to increase the accessibility of the Omnipod system.  I'm not sure whether they have been able to consider these issues with the release of this new system, but it was a very positive meeting with them.  I'm sure hopeful that they will come up with something.  They have been the only pump company actually interested in helping visually impaired and blind diabetics to my knowledge.  I received a call from Medtronic on Feb. 1, since my 530G is now out of warranty.  She wanted to know if I wanted to upgrade!  I was very nice, but gave her an earful about their lack of consideration for blind diabetics and what seems like an unwillingness to do anything about it like Insulet.

Just wondering if anyone in this group has heard further information from Insulet on their development of a pump with "accessibility"? I attended the conference call they held some months back with us, the blind/vip insulin pump users and I have not received any word back from them.

Thanks Gary! I had no trouble getting the information. I hope Insulet was able to make the device that runs the pod accessible for the blind. They have been working hard to do so.
