Veronica, here you go You are basing your facts and research on past history . Do a bit of googling before you make false cclaims that are not true. Heres the link to the Tandum app on android and the playstore link.

I don't know that I'd be ready to declair that Android is better for health apps. Anybody using the android app for Tandem? Oh wait! Not there. So frankly, I think it's great that there are choices and the pump companies know there are an awful lot of iPhone users out there who don't want to switch to Android. I do get the bit about using it as a receiver though.
Veronica

Right. I have found some of the rough edges you are referring to. They are honestly not a big deal to me. That’s why I jumped into the Android world to use this pump, and now that Insulet is working on accessibility with suggestions from the visually impaired community, it’s becoming a great platform, and I’m glad I jumped in with both feet.

Android is never going to be apple but the accessibility team at android do there best to make it a close to apple experience for apple users wanting to use or need android for specific use cases.they are now working on fixing a lot of braille and braille display issues in talk back.

I installed the Microsoft Launcher and it gave the grid pattern just like iOS, this makes it easier to customize the interface. This launcher also allowed me to easily hide the apps I didn’t need, or will never use. I also installed the G-Board keyboard made by Google and now the typing experience is much better and far less touchy/jumpy. The Samsung on screen keyboard is awful, and the Google keyboard is much more manageable.

I am actually thinking that I will stick with the Android set up when the iPhone app comes out, as I like the idea of leaving my actual phone behind so people can not reach me or bug me. I did this for the first time the other day and it was amazing!

I only use that phone for the Omnipod app. I don't even have a sim card in it. I use my iPhone for the Dexcom and everything else, since Talk Back really is too frustrating to use when typing. Plus, the Bixby (Android's version of Siri) does not work with Talk Back.

If it doesn't come out soon, I might get past my laziness and think about learning TalkBack. But if I can hang on long enough, well, no idea how much of the accessibility changes in the Android app will translate into iPhone accessibility. But hey, that pipe dream is alive and well. <grin> Thanks for the update, Ed.
