[Diabetes-Talk] OmniPod 5 update

The main reason Omnipod came out as an Android first is that two of their existing units were based on Android phones already. For their receivers were actual Android phones with the phone part removed. I tried very hard to start a project in 2017 to get Google Health to work with them, put part of the phone back in, so the TalkBack module could be installed. But allas, that didn't happen, or you would have known about it. The people at Insulet told me that they were having to work hard to switch architecture and get approvals.

Gary,

There you go blaming Apple again. You just went on a rant arguing with Veronica, about bias in the blind world. Apple VS. Android. I actually have been told it’s not a hold up with Apple, it’s an FDA hold up with the app. They also have to rework the back end of the app so it’s compatible with the Apple notification system and many other basic operating system requirements. The reason it was on the Samsung’s devices first was because it was created for a very locked down Samsung handset, from what I can tell could be from the early 2000’s. I’m glad that they are working towards getting it on Apple devices, but your statement about it being an Apple issue is completely wrong.

Ed
