[Diabetes-Talk] dexcom g seven

I had a conversation with the diabetic educator in our office just yesterday afternoon. My plan is, to wait this thing out. I'm not going to panic about the Dexcom G7. I will wait this thing out and see if they make their improvements right away. I just want to see what they do first. Anybody who depends on technology knows that the last thing one should do is to immediately jump on the bandwagon when something new comes out. Because, when it comes out, it usually has all kinds of bugs. My philosophy is, let them iron out the bugs, first. Then jump on board!! That's my plan. And that diabetic educator in my office agreed with me. She's a ttechy, too.

My endo has had many people switch to the Libre because of this problem. Dexcom acknowledges this problem as well. It is driving me crazy. My endo is telling people that the only difference between the Dexcom and the Libre right now is that you can calibrate the Dexcom and you cannot calibrate the Libre.

> First, they want us to put this one on the back of the arm. Mine wasn't very accurate there so they told me to go back to my belly, which is what I did with the G6. It's very small and I wouldn't think it would be easily knocked off. They make a big fuss about it being necessary to use their overpatch. What a joke! I couldn't get the backing off without pulling an extra layer off. I asked tech support if they could send me a couple practice ones. Their answer, no. Nobody can get these on and they'll be redoing them. That made me feel better. Mine have stayed on, no problem so far.
> As for getting the readings to your doctor, do you have the Dexcom Clarity app? If you get it, you can go in there, choose share, then get a code, which you give to your doctor. You decide how long it lasts. Once the doctor has your code, he or she can see all of your readings. This is how I did it with the G5 and G6 as well.
> The tech support person did not tell me when they'd fix the blue tooth. I do know that they've lost customers over this. I don't like it but I can understand how they'd miss or not test for a VoiceOver problem. But not catching a lousy blue tooth, the mind boggles.
