[Diabetes-Talk] Coffee

I doubt it is the coffee and a splash of milk and a sugar-free substitute.
Chat with your nutritionist. One ounce of milk has 1.5 grams of sugar. So if
you are putting one ounce of milk in your coffee, that's where you are.
Figure out how much that much sugar will raise your blood sugar. I would
think a splash is less than an ounce. But maybe you need to use a milk
substitute which you can measure and calculate better.

Sure, lactose. Anything at the minimal levels as splashed into a cup of
coffee should not cause 50-100 spikes in glucose levels as it does for me.
Does caffeine cause rises in glucose levels? I've never been able to find
answers from my Endo nor Nutritionists.

I add a little splash of milk in my coffee and a single pack of equal. My
sugar always rises, needing a correction bolus. Nocarbs nor anything to
cause, why is this the case?

Hi Steve,
Since you are not adding any carbs or protein to your coffee, it wil not
affect your blood sugar testing.

Warmly, Joy

Hi All,

After I have dinner, I sometimes like to have a cup of black coffee. Now my
question is, should I start counting my time to check my sugar after I
finish my coffee or my meal? Thanks in advance for your assistance!
