Please do let me know how this works for you .i would like to have a back up solution to my clever-choice.i do have the other one which I think most use on the list but I could not make heads or tails out of it and with my frustration I went looking for another accessible or useable meter solution for some one who is low vision/ blind.

I also use the Contour next 1 m and the app does read aloud the blood sugar results very well. I just needed assistance in one place in setting up the app and after that have been using it independently for several years. it is quite an accurate meter.

There is a talking meter called the. Prodigy, but all it does is read you the blood sugar. You cannot set it up or change anything on your own.

I have tried numerous times to reset the date, but the setting returns to the 2014 date once the machine is turned off and restarted. I tried a new set of batteries and this didn't fix the issue.

Try to have your new batteries right there on hand and ready to insert in the correct direction. I think the faster and smoother the swap from old to new makes it more likely you will not lose the memory.
