[Diabetes-Talk] Update:Question about Clever Choice Voice HD Meter

the meter itself does not talk and is definitely not originally designed for Blind or low vision users. It only works because of the screen reader on the phone, allowing access to the app which does have to be paired with the meter. The meter can also be used as a standalone device by sighted people, as everything can also be done on the meter itself with tactile buttons and a digital screen read out.
I use the app to get my current blood glucose reading, and can also access the history of previous tests, reasonably well using voiceover. There is other information contained within the app that I do not need and have not even explored for accessibility, but all I generally want to know is my current blood sugar as I also use a CGM and only do finger pricks when I am concerned about the accuracy of my CGM. I hope this answers your questions and if not, let me know what else you would like to find out.

Just make sure you get the one with the word voice after it! There is a talking meter called the. Prodigy, but all it does is read you the blood sugar. You cannot set it up or change anything on your own.

I have tried numerous times to reset the date, but the setting returns to the 2014 date once the machine is turned off and restarted. I tried a new set of batteries and this didn't fix the issue.

Try to have your new batteries right there on hand and ready to insert in the correct direction. I think the faster and smoother the swap from old to new makes it more likely you will not lose the memory.
