I tend to agree with you .but this is a stupid decision .what happens if
you have multiple sensor failure due to the bad or manufacturing process of
the dexcom sensor.what about that situation or use case then. Your S O
L for 90 days. So this is an issue, advocate that a lot of these so called
diabetes action networks need to be fighting for , all of the diabetes
users no matter what company they are using for diabetes supplies an CGMs.
These CGms are important tools and companys should not be giving the user a
hard time for replacements when in the first place it was the fault of the
manufacturing process of the actual bad or faulty sensor failure . Out of
every batch of monthly sensors in a given 3 to 6 month process I will have
every other random sensor fail on me no matter if its Dexcom or abbot.

I don't like to hear this policy with Dexcom. I'm not one to scam them and
only call if I have a true failure. Now that I am using the Mobi insulin
pump which I'm loving, the one issue is the inability to select the type of
CGM one is using. So my now running transmitter is supposed to die about the
30th of September and I'm anticipating I will need assistance when it comes
time to start a new one.
Since I also need help with a software update I'm planning a phone call on
9/6 when my sister can come over and we'll call the pump trainer. I was
going to end my transmitter and sensor session early so I can begin a new
transmitter when sighted help is available. This is a pain in the but and I
am hoping Tandem will resolve the issue with an update. Unfortunately I am
doubtful it will be in the update I am about to perform in another few
weeks. And I hope this needing to end the session early in order to have
sighted assistance on hand is not going to short out my Dexcom G6 supplies.
Things will be in much better control for me if I can keep Control IQ
working. If Tandem Mobi isn't paired up with the Dexcom transmitter then it
puts me back to a place like when I just used my old Medtronic pump with a
fixed basal rate running and it was myself needing to constantly issue
corrections.

I just went through this with Dexcom. Here's what I was told. They will only
replace sensors if there is an actual problem with the sensor, and we can
have three per year. I pointed out that in my case, I hit a blood vessel and
blood went everywhere. No way could I leave the sensor in, but it wasn't the
sensor's fault. So the guy went away for a bit, came back and said he'd
count it as one of my three.
The only part that bugs me is that we can't always schedule a medical
procedure to conincide with a sensor change, a pod change and any other
devices we'll end up wearing. I understand that people were getting pretty
good at gaming the system and Dexcom wants to tighten up. But frankly, if
they just gave us one extra sensor in every 90-day supply, people wouldn't
be so scared about running out. That would save a lot of tech support time
and shipping cost. If Abbott can do it, why not Dexcom? I think a little bit
of help would go a long way and stop the attempts at trying to get extras.
Then things would also be friendlier if we really do need help.
Just my dollar's worth. <grin.>

Hello I was listening to a diabetes podcast , that there would bea a new
policy for replacements going forward for dexcom cgm products. I am not
sure if anyone has any info about that or not. What do you think about it .
If not , I will try to dig up that info and post it here for discussion.
