Veronica, there you go.you just experienced this stupid replacement policy
.these diabetes action networks now need to advocate ffor the users, for
changes or modifications to these replacement policies for tehse cgm
sensors when its not our fault when the process is not so so with or when
one of these sensors will fail on us.especially now there are no extra
transmitter in place with Dexcom cgm, and all the guts of the cgm is now
bundled into a small coin sized package like the Dexcom g7 and abbot libre
3 and 3 plus.

I just went through this with Dexcom. Here's what I was told. They will only
replace sensors if there is an actual problem with the sensor, and we can
have three per year. I pointed out that in my case, I hit a blood vessel and
blood went everywhere. No way could I leave the sensor in, but it wasn't the
sensor's fault. So the guy went away for a bit, came back and said he'd
count it as one of my three.
The only part that bugs me is that we can't always schedule a medical
procedure to conincide with a sensor change, a pod change and any other
devices we'll end up wearing. I understand that people were getting pretty
good at gaming the system and Dexcom wants to tighten up. But frankly, if
they just gave us one extra sensor in every 90-day supply, people wouldn't
be so scared about running out. That would save a lot of tech support time
and shipping cost. If Abbott can do it, why not Dexcom? I think a little bit
of help would go a long way and stop the attempts at trying to get extras.
Then things would also be friendlier if we really do need help.
Just my dollar's worth. <grin.>
Veronica

Hello I was listening to a diabetes podcast , that there would bea a new
policy for replacements going forward for dexcom cgm products. I am not
sure if anyone has any info about that or not. What do you think about it .
If not , I will try to dig up that info and post it here for discussion.
