[Diabetes-Talk] Mobi Insulin Pump.

The pump app always displays insulin on board, the amount of insulin remaining in the cartridge and what the current basal rate being delivered is. I'm also able to do an extended bolis, if I want. When going into the app's area to deliver a bolis it will prompt if I want to deliver a correction bolis if above my target and/or below the target.

I was just about to ask which tubing length you used. I wasn't wild about what the sleve felt like so if I go to it, I'd likely do what you're doing as well. But that pump is just so darn cute!
And as we start merging all this tech stuff, this business of updating phones and so on is going to continue to be tricky and something we need to pay attention to.
I can't remember the last time my doctor changed my basal rate. <grin.> But this is real progress. Of course we should be able to use insulin on board features, change our own basals and other factors, even the time, etc. 2024 could be a real game changer for us. Yay!
Thanks for the updates.

Hi Veronica,
Yes, the cartridge for the Mobi is a little strange, but maybe more so coming off of a Medtronic pump and a cylinder shaped cartridge. It gets easier the more I use it. I just went through the change of my G6 sensor which I had become concerned over possibly not being able to select Dexcom. Turns out it all worked very well with the G6 sensor change. There might be an issue with the G7 sensor change, but I'm waiting to hear back from another blind person who is using the Mobi with the Dexcom G7 to find out how he has faired with it.
I am also able to have profiles with what Mobi calls segments where I can have different times and basal rates. I'm able to change them myself of course not without consulting the doctor first.
So far it is a very cool thing. Very tiny, only a fraction of the size of my old Medtronic pump, measuring a little over 1 inch wide by 2 inches tall and 0.5 inch deep. It weighs so little it does not pull or tug on clothing. It can also be used with either a 23 or 5 inch tubing set. For those who like the shorter tubing, you can get a little adhesive sleeve to wear right on the body. I personally like the 23 inch tubing and being able to keep it in a pocket or my Medtronic pump pouch even though that is on the large size for it.
I'm just not able to update my iphone software the way I might normally do since Tandem will not garuntee beyond the IOS versions of 17.x. So I will need to wait for Tandem to give the go-ahead when IOS 18 is out and they have approved it.

Eileen, this is great to hear. The Mobi is a cute little thing, isn't it. My only real complaint was that I don't care for Tandem's infusion sets. My favorite infusion set will be with the Twiist pump. But I never say never. It will be fun to see where I end up.
But thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
