[Diabetes-Talk] Accessory available for tandem Mobi insulin pump charging pad

Hi Patricia! The Mobi with the iPhone app is 100% accessible for the blind. The Omnipod was getting close, but there were still things that I could not access nor adjust on my own. Knowing the exact amount of insulin that is in the cartridge plus seeing all of the information that is available to you on the dashboard is new compared to the Omnipod. I know that I am back to having tubing, but the 5 inch tube with the pump sleeve is really nice.

I wasted so much insulin with Omnipod, since it died after 80 hours no matter how much insulin was in the pod. And, because the pods are a prescription rather than a durable medical good, I reached the coverage gap after only 3-4 months and had to then pay quite a bit for them. I'm pretty sure the Tandem supplies are going to be a lot less for me after the initial cost of the pump.

				Jamie

Jamie,
That is so interesting that you have changed from the Omnipod. Now that you h= ave used app control for these two different pumps, do you find that the Mob= i is any more user-friendly for the blind community than the Omnipod app?
