This is a great idea to reach out to someone who works in the diabetes prevention program offered nationwide by CDC as they have classes in communities throughout the United States, as well as virtual programs and have experts on all the areas of diabetes management that are trained in the same protocol. it could also be good to have a professional speaker for part of the time and then form a panel that also included two or three members of the group to share what has worked for them. You can just Google CDC diabetes prevention program and it will find the site where you can put in any ZIP Code and find out what programs are available in that particular area.
Patricia.
