Oh man, this is annoying. I use US Med and have not had an issue. I didn't even get a receiver with the G7 and frankly, pretty soon you will be transitioned because Dexcom will discontinue the G6. Good grief!
The little imp in me couldn't help but think, hey, if they have no record of you starting, maybe you could just pretend you're newly starting CGM and want the G7. Laughing! But this is the first time I've heard any mention of the 5-year rule for a receiver. Crossing all digits for you. Please keep us posted.

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Upgrading to Dexcom G7?
Hi All,
I've started asking my diabetes supply company about upgrading to the 10 day
Dexcom G7 system from my G6 system. I don't know why I was so foolish to
think it would be an easy change over, but they aregiving me a difficult
time wanting to know when I started using the G6 receiver. Huh? It's been
quite a few years now that I've been using G6 sensors and of course, like
all of us blind diabetics I've never been able to utilize a dexom receiver
even though I have it stored away in a box.
Anyway the supply company who I've also been using for ages tells me they
have no record of when I got the g6 receiver/system. I did put a call into
medicare yesterday and they tell me the supply company is suppose to keep
those records. The other weird thing is Medicare only has a record of when I
started using the G5 system back in 2017.
Have any others among you had this issue with switching Dexcom systems?
Anythoughts on how to handle this problem. At this point I'm tempted to try
and change supply companies from the current mail order company to just
going to my local Walgreens.
Thanks for your thoughts and ideas on this one.
Eileen
