<DIV>I'm attaching an RTF version of the manual for the Solo V2.</DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial>You'll find some differences between the
Prodigy Voice and the Solo V2 as you've discovered. On the plus side, the Solo
V2 will generally tell you if you haven't enough blood on the strip. Also, the
case tends to keep the meter from being turned on accidentally because the case
is hard. There are places for a bottle of strips, the lancet device, control
solution and meter. You can request either a regular spring-loaded lancet device
(this is what I did) or ADS will send what is called a "single-use lancet" in
which you prick your finger manually. I can't for the life of me figure out why
anyone would want this but that's just my opinion.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial>On the minus side (and what I say next may
welll bee because I haven't figured it out yet), there appears to be no Speak
Display key so you can hear your current reading or a reading from memory
without actually going into memory review.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial>Also on the minus side, while the date and
time of the current reading show up on the display screen, they are not spoken.
Likewise, when reviewing redings in memory, one hears the date of the readings
but not the time. This last is in my opinion a sufficiently severe "feature"
that it would dissuade me from permanently using the Solo V2 although I will be
using it exclusively during the upcoming meeting of the NFB Scholarship
Committee so should be able to give it a work-out.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial>If you go to <A
href="http://www.solometers.com">http://www.solometers.com</A>, </FONT>you'll
find things like a video on proper testing technique. Frankly, I use the same
testing technique I use for the Voice, that is, I bring the meter/strip to my
finger held flat; that works the best for me.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 face=Arial>Hope this helps.</FONT></DIV>
