Congratulations Becky on being chosen for the year-long, Kenneth Jernigan, leadership and service program. What an exciting opportunity for you. Going to the national center is a great experience and the food there is amazing.
Have a safe and fun-filled trip.
Sincerely,
April

Subject: [DSM-Iowa] State convention
Good morning everyone,
As you all know, we had our state convention this past weekend. September 15, and 16th. Norma Crosby was our National representative. She is an awesome lady. The convention was very successful. And I feel like we got some things accomplished. Also, I am free to announce this now. I was one of the 15 members selected to participate in the year-long, Kenneth Jernigan, leadership and service program. Norma, our National representative, announced. This at the convention. I found out at the end of August, that I had been one of the chosen ones for the program, but was unable to say anything until the announcement had been officially made. I will be making my first trip to Baltimore, Maryland on Thursday, September 28, and returning Sunday, October 1. I am very honored to be one of the 15 chosen to participate in this year-long program. The program will consist of virtual events as well as in person events. I was required to have two affiliate presidents, sponsor me, one being our own, Scott, and the other one I chose, and who excepted me, was Kane Brolin from Indiana. it took me a while to find someone, I had called about 10 state presidents, gotten a couple thinkers, and then I got one to commit. I am very Excited about this. I'm excited to see what I learned over the next year, and bring back to our chapter. I'm also excited about things to come in our chapter. And looking forward to seeing all of you at our meeting on October 14. Remember, that is when our give it up or do it challenge ends. And funds need to be turned in that you have chosen to give up or do for the challenge. Also, remember, that these funds are going to Bell Academy. Hope you all have a fantastic day.
