I wanted to take a moment to share a few updates with you all as we move into the month of August.
 
As many of you might know, the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law 34 years ago this month and dramatically changed the lives of individuals with disabilities. The ADA revolutionized the public transit industry as it required agencies to move to more accessible vehicles and services. Please read more in this blog post <x-msg://183/How%20DART%20Serves%20Central%20Iowans%20with%20Disabilities%20|%20DART%20-%20Des%20Moines%20Area%20Regional%20Transit%20Authority%20(ridedart.com)> about the work that DART does every day to honor the ADA and serve our riders. Our work to be accessible and inclusive to all of our riders is never over, but we can recognize how far we’ve come.
 
A few other timely updates:
The Iowa State Fair is coming up August 8-18, and once again DART will provide three park and ride shuttles to the fairgrounds. Read more about this service and what’s different this year on our website <https://ridedart.com/news-archive/park-ride-iowa-state-fair>. 
Ride to Thrive Re-Enrollment: DART launched it’s Ride to Thrive program more than two years ago! Individuals enrolled in this program are issued ID cards that are good for two years, but can renew them if they continue to be eligible.
