This once-in-a-generation opportunity will allow us to think creatively about how our public transit system can connect our communities for the next 20 years.  

JWA was founded by Jarrett Walker, author of the book Human Transit, and is a small firm that specializes in transit network redesigns. JWA has completed transit network redesigns in more than 30 cities, including Knoxville, TN, Dallas, TX, Akron, OH, and Greensboro, NC. Transpro Group is a leader in transit planning with small and mid-sized agencies and has expertise in Paratransit and microtransit options.  

The consulting team will provide a fresh look at DART's entire network, including fixed route bus lines, Paratransit, and microtransit. Consultants will work collaboratively with the DART Commission and staff, with extensive public input, to identify the types of services DART should deliver when and where to best meet the region’s needs. The redesign will consider changes in how people are traveling today and aim to increase residents’ access to opportunities through public transit. 

We look forward to continuing to update you on the progress of this effort as we kick off in earnest in January. The first major public input opportunity will be in spring 2025 to gather feedback on network concepts.
