I am not sure if the Hopkins study article itself is available online,
but two summaries that explain the results of that study and a couple of
others are available on www.rfbd.org and on
www.learningthroughlistening.org at the following link (summaries are
available in PDF and RTF formats):

Hi Kes,

I am not sure exactly what you're looking for re: literacy studies, but
Johns Hopkins did do a study on the use of RFB&D's AudioPlus (DAISY)
books and students' content acquisition a few years back and it was
published in LD Quarterly I believe. I can get you more information if
you think this study would be useful for your article.

Karen,

Thank you, I would indeed be interested in reading more about this
study. Do
you know if it is available online? My access to scholarly journals is
very
limited.

Thank you again!

Please excuse the cross posting.

I have a old Romeo braille embosser for sale. It seems to work but I
would suggest that it go in for an overhaul. $500 or best offer. I
will ship it Free Matter or you can pay shipping if you like. It will
run on a Mac with a USB to serial cable.
