I've tried searching, but I can't find the firefox plug-in being
mentioned, as a Firefox plug-in.

Yes Mike -

You probably have checked this out already on the Bookshare Reading
Tools page, but there is a version of VictorSoft, the AMIS Daisy reader
from Daisy, and AnyDaisy as a Firefox plug-in.    AMIS can work pretty
well, but can also be sluggish when moving from page to page.  AnyDaisy
has even more mixed results, and it doesn't look like there's much more
development on this.  Finally, there is another Firefox plug-in from
Brazil that seems to continue to receive some development - DD Reader.

But I wouldn't be too hasty in blaming the Bookshare flavor of Daisy for
your FS Reader problems ... It could be as simple as a portion of the
book is actually missing, but got through the validation process anyway.

Bookshare members used to be able to download a version of the PC
Victor Reader software, modified for Bookshare -- as a part of their
subscription.  I believe they still can.  Nose around on the BSO site
and see.
