Hi there everyone.
My name is Jonathan Matte.
I don’t tend to typically subscribe to any of the online list serves for the blind unless I have something to say that I think people will be interested in.
I’m writing this message to the list this evening though because I want to make people aware about a very special event being held tomorrow October 8th at 1 PM on audio access Radio FM a new online internet radio station where I serve as the station’s assistant manager.
I won’t make this a very long message because I don’t want to come across as long winded but just a little bit of brief information about this event.
Audio Access FM is a new online internet radio station which began operating in September of this year.
Most of the broadcasters on the station are either totally blind or visually impaired.
We hope to add more mainstream content so that this station will not only appeal to a blind audience but also to people who are sighted.
With the launtch of this station tomorrow launtches a new feature on Audio Access called the Entertainment Vault with Jonathan Matte.
This is a segment in which I will review books, music, movies, tv series, ocasionally we might do a technology item, and one of the things we are working very hard on is bringing people in from the book, music, or tv arena’s to be interviewed.
Tomorrow’s presentation is very special because I will be interviewing Lou Gutierrez the director of Benefit Media Inc a new York city based recording studio which records and produces some of the Library Of Congress’s Talking Book Program titles.
Have you ever wondered how a digital talking book is created?, how are narators selected?, what does Lou’s position as director Of Benefit Media Inc entail, etc etc.
Also we’ll find out some of Lou’s thoughts on the move to digital books and how it might re shape the national library system and much much more.
The presentation will run for aproxamately 80 minutes.
Unfortunately this is a pree recorded presentation, however after the presentation concludes we will open up the phone lines if anyone would like to comment on what they heard, share their experience with talking books, or talk about the sorts of things they hope to see for the future of the talking book program.
So if anyone is interested in this event at 1 PM tomorrow hop on over to

www.audioaccessfm.com

and follow the links to listen to the program.
I take a lot of pride in the effort I put in to this presentation and I hope to see some people their.
If anyone has any questions for me about this event you are welcome to contact me by email off list.
My email address is

Hope to see some of you their tomorrow
Best Wishes
Jonathan Matte.
