NLS has been planning this move into the digital age for most if not all of
the last decade. It was around 2004 that NLS had their magazine pilot. NLS
had four magazines for download and patrons used the Victor Reader software
to listen to the magazines on their computers. The pilot for what became
BARD started in September or October2006. (if others memories are clearer
than mine feel free to help me out with the dates)
