[Dtb-talk] Changes to BARD

Hello Mike and everyone,

Bookshare.org all ready does this. This is not the only situation in
which "User-Friendly" file names are desired to the point that particular
Web languages such as ColdFusion have components to automatically do this
for those who download files from the Internet. There are those who post PDF
documents using long filenames such as those of the NLS Web Braille books.
The component matches the long filename with the title of the book or
article being downloaded and automatically renames the file using the
article or book's title giving the person downloading the file a
user-friendly filename. Perhaps Web Braille/BARD could make this
configurable to allow those that prefer the book files numbered when
downloaded that choice and to allow those who want the book title to appear
in the filename instead. In both cases the volume number would also need to
be included. We enjoy downloading content from NLS but want the files we
download to be easier to find and ready for use when they're downloaded so
we won't need to host a renaming party each time we download a book.

Have you forgotten how to rename a file? I rather like the book number in
the file name. Different strokes ...
