Steve,
the answer is below if you live in California
http://www.ddtp.org
This the website for CTAP or the telephone access program. They have
accessible stuff for blind, deaf and other disabilities. It is free for you
and rules for small businesses under a certain number of employees.
Here is the point, even if you do not live in ca every state is required to
have such a program. They could probably give you info on your states
contact. they could also give info on their equipment. I say free, but of
course nothing is free. They take it out of everyone's phone bill monthly.
I have a great cordless, Panasonic, which was offered years ago. You can go
into their office and play with the phones if you are close or they can send
it to you. nice to see what is there, because there is usually one non
blind person that when you say blind they only offer the one huge button
phone.
My last recommendation is to get the same option for home and work, so you
can have success and feel comfortable with your equipment.

Subject: [Electronics-talk] Accessible multi-function professional phones
hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew where I might c look for accessible phones
for my office. My employer has been absolutely wonderful with providing me
pretty much any accommodation I request, but they noticed that the phones
they have are pretty sucky to say the least. We have checked with the
manufacturer of this particular phone to see if they have more accessible
models, and that is a no-go. I work in a human service office through our
County, and the phone, along with the computer are my main tools. Any help
or ideas would be great. Thanks,
P.S. I am thinking something that might have tone differentials, and
something with less than the number of buttons I have on my current phone
which is around 68 or something crazy like that.
