Thank you, we were talking about 2 separate things.  I phone is independent
with voice over after set up.

Sorry if I'm confused as to what you're asking, but you don't need JAWS 
on the phone because as you point out, you have Voice Over. You do need 
JAWS or some screen reader on your PC though, if you're going to use 
iTunes to configure your iPhone, synch music and playlists between your 
phone and PC and so on.
